So here I sit...2:42AM...SAYING..."Peepin' has go
to Get Out"...But even though a little "tardy"...It has been such an interesting month...Between being taken
to Hawaii by my daughter Denise with grandson Jahlil for a well-deserved vacation...don't remember when I did that one...I
promised God that the only way I would call a radio station was if he was to come down and personally put his hand on mine
and dial the phone...I kept that promise and in turn, I did not get to feel the Midas touch!!! Aside from being "stuck"
in Hawaii (ATA was the flight we were on that went "belly-up"...it was more than a delightful trip!...Better than
being stuck in "jack-up South Dakota :)!!! I
had a chance to see Steve and Katherine Topley, a old friend and business acquaintance who promoted the recording group WAR
and was the first "white" promotion person, handling the like of Sly & the Family Stones! and many others! Besides
being taken to a lovely dinner by the Marina...the "war stories" flowed into the evening. Such wonderful stories
about the "good old daze" when promotion persons did "THE" JOB!...and...Top was one of them....Thanks
for the memories and history! Now you know, I would
not be able to go on at this late hour if I did not say something about my main man...BARACK OBAMA. I have now reached the
stage of being a Delegate for the State Convention and working my way to the NATIONAL...with this I need some prayers!!! I
have found out that it is very, very competitive!..I am going to do my best! A few of my well-knowledgeable friends as well as myself, have taken a "straw poll" with others
to find out if in fact, IF (and a big IF at that...still positive) IF...Obama does not garner the nomination for the Democratic
party...would Hillery be an option. The response is mind boggling. THEY WILL NOT VOTE! Now how do you deal with this...We
will relinquish our right to vote...McCain is a shoe-in and I am totally confused!!!...In essence...OBAMA HAS TO WIN!...PLEASE
DONATE...DONATE...DONATE...PLEASE...do whatever is necessary from this day on to participate in the word getting MORE out...PLEASE
contact the OBAMA headquarters to see how you can help with phone banks...this can be done from home with involvement in any
upcoming States & Territories..PLEASE! This is YOUR FUTURE....YOUR HISTORY...OUR TIME! I will deal with Rev. Wright at another time...when I am not too emotional!!!! Ain't
no tellin' what would come out of my mouth this AM!!!!!!!!! Paulette De Suzia

Redifining Radio - Allen Johnston At the first IMPACT conference in Nashville Tennessee
in front of the Gospel radio panel, I spoke about creating new programming geared at an Internet audience. Radio One's
Cathy Hughes laughed at me and said that it was impossible to place an Internet device within a traveling car. In fact everyone
at that panel laughed at me once Ms Hughes had spoken. Today Internet radio is already in cars, by way of Ford's Sync
audio system, which lets audio from any Internet-capable device with a media player, be heard over the car's audio system.
I tell you this story not to belittle Ms Hughes or
anyone else in that panel but to talk about the limited description that we give RADIO. Radio is the ability to listen to words, music or sounds over the airwaves without being
tethered. The first college radio station began broadcasting
on October 14, 1920, from Union College, Schenectady, New York under the personal call letters of Wendell King, an African-American
student at the school. That month 2ADD, later renamed WRUC in 1940, aired what is believed to be the first public entertainment
broadcast in the United States, a series of Thursday night concerts initially heard within a 100-mile (160 km) radius and
later for a 1,000-mile (1,600 km) radius. Old-Time Radio
and the Golden Age of Radio (1920 - 1960) was when radio was dominant and the airwaves were filled with a variety of radio
formats and genres, people regularly tuned in to their favorite radio programs, 82 out of 100 Americans were found to be radio
listeners. The end of this period coincided with music radio becoming the dominant radio form around the early 1960's. In 1960, Sony introduced its first transistorized radio, small enough
to fit in a shirt pocket, and able to be powered by a small battery. It was durable, because there were no tubes to burn out.
The first FM broadcasting stations were in the United
States, but initially they were primarily used to broadcast classical music and educational programming to an exclusive professional
audience in urban areas. By the late 1960s FM had been adopted by fans of "alternative rock" music, but it wasn't
until 1978 (the first year that listeners to FM stations exceeded that of AM stations) that FM became mainstream. During the
1980s and early 1990s, Top 40 music stations and later even country music stations largely abandoned AM for FM. I can still remember when FM radio started and the problems that
transpired to get FM considered REAL RADIO especially since everyone knew that REAL RADIO was AM. We now stand at that same
type of moment in history. Radio's audience is declining at an alarmingly massive rate, advertising is becoming difficult
to obtain and the major radio players are crying about finances. The smart money people however, have redefined what the REAL
RADIO audience truly is. The new definition includes the people who are listening via cable or satellite TV, satellite radio,
and Internet radio. Based on this new more inclusive
definition the radio listening audience has been growing worldwide at an absolutely astronomical rate. Based in NEW YORK, TARGETSPOT launched a self-service ad platform for streaming radio
last year, and now the system is used by more than 500 radio stations, including CBS RADIO. TARGETSPOT helps advertisers create
audio, video, banner or text ads, and then it targets those ads to a specific demographic, location, or radio station thus
creating a new revenue stream. The Corporation for
Public Broadcasting announced a round of recipients of its Public Media Innovation Fund Program, which encourages experiments
with emerging platforms. Grants are for up to $20,000 per. Projects embrace "Web 2.0 strategies to interact with listeners,
viewers and users," the CPB stated, and results will be shared with the public broadcasting system. Here are the recipients in full: · KET/The Kentucky Network. "Connectivity, Choice and Participation" will test Web 2.0 strategies
to increase secondary school student proficiency and engagement in the study of German. · Oregon Public Broadcasting.
"Invasive Species Online Hotline" will employ user-generated content and social networking tools to connect the
public with invasive species experts to help stop the spread of invasive plants and animals in Oregon. · WGBH/Boston.
"Virtual Radio" will launch the branded virtual radio station in Second Life in the form of a concert hall/music
café. · WFUV/New York. "WFUV Online Local Music Network" will create an online social network for
musicians and music lovers to access independent, emerging music. · Penn State Public Broadcasting. "Back from
Iraq: The Veterans' Stories Project" will use a course-based model and Web 2.0 strategies to empower and train Iraq
veterans to complete in-depth audio and text portraits of fellow Iraq veterans. · Northwest Public Broadcasting. "Our
Northwest News" 2008 will test the use of online game-playing, blogs, wikis and other strategies to engage the audience
with regional news stories in Washington state. Radio
can be found in a multitude of new hardware choices. It is no longer regulated to desktop, component, automobile or portable
radios, but can now be found on PDA's, mobile phones, computers and more. Redefining the definition of radio now will
help increase revenues, develop new and exciting programming and truly start a new Golden Age of Communication Allen Johnston - The Music Specialist

Foster Sylvers/Teri Littlejohn - A Real
Love Story I first met Teri Littlejohn
when working with her at Avenue Records...the home of recording artist WAR...a bright, energetic, and talented person in her
own right with music as she she played in church as a drummer She is a twin from St. Louis...When she told me of her story
it was too much for my romantic mind to comprehend ...So goes the "fairly tale"...At an early stage...her connection
with Foster Silvers of the Silvers fame...me still being a romantic could not take the opportunity of passing it on!!! This
is the LAST love story!!! In her own words...you must read the following!!!!! "I will never forget that day when I was walking home from school at 13 years old in 1974 and
I saw his second album entitled Foster Sylvers featuring Angie and Pat in the front stack of albums through the window of
the Woolworth Store. I had to have it, so I went home and borrowed the money from my nephew $2.50. I played it all night long,
and every day after. I had no idea who he was, if I would have seen him on the bus, in my class room or on the streets. I
would have felt the same, my life changed forever. I
continued from 13 too 16 to think of him everyday, in my mind we were married and had two sons, and then a daughter. This
was so real to me, before and after school I would go into my room and day dream about this for hours. (I even had paper dolls
that I made). I would get teased in high school and
all the kids wrote a note in my memory book about it. I
met him in person for the first time at 16 and then again a couple of times later in passing. However the first time that I knew that we could actually be friends, was when I met
him again in October of 1999. I was introduced to his mother and she said that I had to meet him. So she gave him my number
he called, and we have been friends from then on. We
had a kind of friendship that was different, and genuine, because there was no intimacy, and being celibate allowed us to
be able to really get to know each other on another level, spiritually. He asked me to marry him in 2003, and in 2004 he made
it official with the ring. We are looking forward to consecrating our marriage and making this dream come true on April 26th,
2008" Man...unfortunately, I cannot attend the
wedding...but the gift is in the mail!!!! What GOD has put together...can no man put aside. I wish them the best of a committed
lifeship...AND...I WANT EVERYONE TO KEEP THEM IN PRAYER...They even look alike :)....Now I am just going to wait on the BABIES!!!! How proud are the parents...How proud am I...and How proud is GOD!!!!
Thanks for making a old lady believe still in Romance...Fate...Destiny....Commitment..and...LOVE! ...- YOU GO GUYS!!

My Sister Teaetta De Suzia - A Family
Affair I had the VERY FORTUNATE pleasure
of seeing my ONE & ONLY SISTER..Yes, I said Sister...TEAETTA DE SUZIA when she took a little vacation trip to Las Vegas
with a couple of her other friends...LOUISE McMINN and TRACY BASS. The tall one in the middle is my sister!!! Got Cha!!! ...no,
that is Louise a very personable young lady with a great sense of humor and the ever ..Tracy on the left., we kept loosing
her in the crowd..Teaetta (my little sister, in size and age but definitely not in heart!...and...yours truly! "T "as I affectionally call her, came in my life late,
but as they say "better late than never"...I THANK GOD for her everyday, sometimes two, three and more. She is the proud mother , and I, the proud aunt of two.."drop
dead gorgeous" sons, that are currently making their mark in the fashion/modeling industry. (Gary & Jason will be
featured in a later article). Now back to Sis...we have
a few things that are not in common...she likes to walk...she like to shop with a vast interest in "sales" and "window
shopping"...doesn't use profanity...smart as a whip...energetic...wholesome...level headed...think things through,
a "neat freak" and a lot of fun....Unlike me...I go with the flow....hardheaded...well you get my drift, that is
if you really know me! I could go on and on about Teaetta personality traits, but you may think I am being bias...I AM!...I
LOVE HER SO MUCH!!! Now before I get too "mushy", I will continue with the "trip". T - Louise and Tracy stayed at the Paris Hotel on the trip...Now that was the bomb...not
only the hotel...but the fact that I did not have to clean my house nor cook!.. We went to a couple of shows "Stomp Out
Loud" a must see and some other local events The
outings went perfectly since, I do have a job doing radio and at this time do not want to burden T with the possibilities
of taking care of me financially...I am going to wait until I get a little older :) All in all, a good time was had by all...can't wait to see her again and her lovely friends...I
can't tell you enough that ...FAMILY.& FRIENDS are so essential in life...Live it to the fullest and THANK GOD for
all your Blessings...He sure did give me one with T !!

Joel Gaines - Musician Extraordinaire
A multi-keyboard artist, a singer,
songwriter, musical director, and sought after producer. I
first met Joel in the 80's while working at Palo Alto Records, where he product an artist names Paul Russo (label-mate
of the late George Howard and Dianne Reeves). A project that had 4 top singles being played nationally on the "Quiet
Storm" format. I MUST interject at this time, the
"Quiet Storm"format was the vehicle whereby artists that played Contemporary Jazz" could get a decent amount
of air-play. This format encompassed the musical exposure of performers that were in most part "kick-back mode"
whether it be instrumentalist or vocalization , a somewhat smooth R&B. coupled with smooth vocals. Just a little history...Palo
Alto Records was the #1 Jazz label for three years in a row!!! Not only did they promote Traditional Jazz, the spin-off label
TBA invented the term "Contemporary Jazz" which later was changed by the industry to "Smooth Jazz". At
that time, none of the majors had a Jazz division...Palo Alto was the IT!...Hence, after seeing the success of TBA, a subsidiary
label, they reopened their Jazz Divisions...came up with a Kenny G...put major bucks behind him...made it difficult for Palo
Alto to sustain..and lo and behold...White musicians came into play...Black radio took off the Quiet Storm format as we knew
it to be...eliminated the Black Promotion personnel...and what did we get??? talented jazz musicians like JOEL GAINES left
to fend on their own, losing great music at the hands of white consultants...(bet you never thought I would get their). Thus, JOEL GAINES...Joel has toured with Pop and R&B legends
Gladys Knight, Barry White, Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, Tony Orlando and Dawn, Melba Moore, The Platters, Sister Sledge, Bobby
Vinton, The Temptations, Jean Carn, Billy Paul, Vesta Williams, Ali Woodson (former lead vocalist of The Temptations), Michael
Wycoff, The Coasters, and Cheryl Lynn. The Jazz and
Smooth Jazz artists Joel has played with include Kenny G, Rick Braun, Brian Culberson, The Crusaders, Ronnie Laws, Jon Lucien,
Bob Mamet, Eric Marienthal, Bryan Savage, Bennie Golson, Tootie Heath, Clifford Jordon, Bennie Maupin, Alphonse Mouson, Flora
Purim, Karen Briggs, Eric Darius, and famed Jazz violinist, Noel Webb. And, of course, Joel has enjoyed working in the fields of Blues and Gospel, playing with the legendary Lowell Fulson,
and the inspirational and dynamic Winans STUDIO RECORDINGS
included such greats as... The Crusaders...Hubert Laws...Bryan Savage...the Platters and too many more to mention. Joel produce, writes and performs to GREAT MUSIC...check him out

Barry Robert's Bison Hunt -aka "Buffalo Hunt"

Barry Robert's Bison Hunt -aka "Buffalo Hunt"
Bags
being packed, tickets being bought and anticipation for that once in a lifetime destination to Kansas? That's right Kansas.
This is where you can find Wayne Hubbard, the host and avid outdoorsman of EMMY nominated award winning Urban American Outdoors.
Urban American outdoors is a Reality Sports Adventure TV program that has developed a huge following of Outdoors and Novice
enthusiast from around the country. Wayne is the guy you want to be with, if you get the opportunity to go on a hunt
or do that special fishing excursion of a lifetime. He also cooks whatever he harvests. With Wayne Hubbard, you are going
to get a fun first rate experience, which you can one day tell the grandkids about. Just ask Music Executive Barry Roberts
what he did this last weekend. You wouldn't believe Barry Roberts, Mr. Bronx himself went on the dream trip he's been
waiting for. Barry Roberts has been all around the world, working with entertainers and stars, cutting music deals, and making
it rain, but all he wanted to do forever, was go on a Bison hunt. Last year around this time Barry Roberts A&R director of Sumthing' Distribution and his hunting buddy Wayne
were talking as usual. Wayne shared that he wanted to do a Tribute to the Buffalo Soldiers, who had so bravely protected America
and help with the vast expansion west. He said he wanted to do an authentic buffalo hunt and after which donate some of the
harvest to the various city food pantries and share with family and friends this wholesome healthy lean meat. Barry immediately
said, "I am in, let's do this". Barry let Wayne know whatever it takes to make it happen let's get this
done. Plans were made and all Barry had to do was fly in to Kansas City and from there the guys headed to one of Ted Turner's
Ranch. Ted Turner philanthropist, media mogul and creator of CNN and Ted Montana Grill is one of the largest land owners in
the country with 2million acres of land, 15 ranches and about 45,000 Buffalo. He has successfully turnaround the bison industry.
Barry, Wayne, along with Dr. Herman Jones III, Gary
Maltbia and cameraman Pete Wilkerson embarked upon the tribute in traditional Buffalo Soldier and Scout gear to pay homage
to the heroes of yesteryear. Historically one in three cowboys in America was black and the Buffalo Soldiers who were given
their name by the Native American were instrumental to safety and the expansion west. Wayne and the crews purpose was to film
and harvest three bison. This was not an easy fete because these are wild bison on the open range which can easily become
agitated and aggressive. Even though Barry and Wayne have hunted all there lives, each hunt is different and safety is a factor
that must always be considered in all outdoors activities. Wayne's primary goal was to guide Barry and Dr. Jones on their
first bison hunt. Barry had the first opportunity to harvest his bison and did just that. Before the end of the day all had
done what they set out to do. This was definitely a unique adventure living a dream come true for Barry and the guys being
able to step back in time with wide open spaces, big blue sky, fresh air and peace of mind. The show will be shown later this
year and you can check the website at www.uaotv.com for more info about this hunt and other things coming up soon. I was told that netted a 1200 pound Bison with a shot from a 35 cal.
Marlin, Iron sights, ONE SHOT at 130 yards with the Bison on the run!!!! Now what is so amazing to me is ...if you knew Barry, from the music industry , the soft spoken owner of Roberts
Music Group...You may not be aware of his many other talents....Outside of being a hunter, yachtsman, a gourmet chief with
some books under his belt... Barry has a successful Jazz Record label with notable artists such as Brian Jackson, Dave Mullen
and Mark Adams. You may contact him at...robertsmusicgrp@optonline.net
